Adventures in 2nd Shooting: Logan Summer Wedding: Storie and Mark

Once again, I made some promises I couldn't keep.

And Karma came back and bit me in the back-side and my website is currently down. So annoying. If you're looking for it, check back tomorrow. Hopefully I'll have sent enough good vibes into the universe with this post to get the issue sorted out quickly!

I'm going to be better my friends! At least, I will if I can keep up with the work coming in.

I had the lovely opportunity to be a second shooter for my dear friend/compadre Shanda (see her stuff HERE) last Thursday and during that time, I got to meet the beautiful Storie, and her now husband Mark! Shanda and I were both a little bit nervous to shoot this wedding because Storie's step-dad is actually a photographer. In fact, I worked with Storie's step-dad, Gary, on that Ice Skating shoot from a while back! (Yes, those photos will eventually end up on here, I promise!) But we had no reason to be worried because Storie and Mark were awesome to work with.

The thing I loved about this couple was that they definitely weren't the typical couple you deal with.

Quirkiness up the wazoo.

It was fantastic.

Storie just really wanted their personalities to show in the photos. Storie is a rock star. Mark is the strong, quiet one that just adores Storie with all his heart.

Since I was the second shooter, I was assigned to mostly shoot the details which I LOVED. You could really see Storie in all of them. I also got a few photos of the couple at the temple which turned out pretty great for shooting at almost mid-day! (Note to all up-and-coming photographers, if you can help it, PLEASE don't shoot at noon. Tracking down shade gets pretty dang annoying after a while.

But anyways, here is the blissfully happy couple!

This was the background they stood in front of during the reception! I loved how it turned out with the dress shots.

I loved how their colors turned out as well! Orange and Blue done right!

Ok the story behind this photo is pretty funny. So Storie hadn't wanted to take too many photos at the temple since Gary had taken her bridals earlier. They were nice enough to put up with us for about 40 minutes but of course, as all grooms are, Mark hadn't really wanted to take photos at all. Don't get me wrong, Mark was such a good sport, but he just wanted some time alone with Storie and no groom likes showing his soft side for too long. After we told them we were done, Shanda and I were walking back to the car when Shanda turned around and said "O look! Their having a moment!"

Yes, Storie and Mark were just enjoying each other and having a private moment to embrace the fact that yes, they're married! Every couple needs to have this in my opinion. Or you'll end up like I did and wake up one morning and realize, "Holy cow, we've been married for like 6 months!"

Or maybe that just happened to me... Anyways back to the story!

So we noticed Mark and Storie having a moment, and yes, we totally creeped back in their direction and totally took pictures of them from behind a tree. Like creeps. No I am not ashamed. Look how cute they are!

Probably the most "real" photo from the day. I love it.

And of course, I loved Storie's choice of footwear..

And my favorite photo of the couple at the reception! These are their dirt bikes (which sported "his" and "hers" signs later in the evening!

Once again, to any girl planning her wedding, just make it about you and your honey and everything will come together beautifully. Big thanks to Shanda for letting me help out on this beautiful wedding! Shanda and I will be working on a few more assignments together in the coming months (including a bar mitzvah! Little did I know there is apparently at least 1 Jewish family in the Logan area! Who woulda thunk it?) and hopefully we'll get our act together and pull together our big idea we've been working on! Keep checking back for more!
